About

I am Jeongwhan Choi (pronounced close to “jung-hwan chweh”), a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Information & Electronics Research Institute, KAIST. I received my Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Yonsei University in August 2025 under the supervision of Noseong Park and Sung-Bae Cho. My research interests span various areas, including graph neural networks, recommender systems, spatio-temporal forecasting, differential equations, and Transformers. I have published multiple papers in prestigious venues, including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, CIKM, WSDM, SIGIR, and ICDM. My research has been recognized through the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship, and I have received Top Reviewer Awards at NeurIPS 2024, LoG 2024, and KDD 2025. I have served as Web Chair for CIKM 2025 and Website Chair LoG 2025.

My current research interests lie in graph foundation models that break free from the reliance on LLMs and and AI4Science. In particular, I'm exploring a direction opposite to that pursed by many researchers using LLMs. Regarding AI4Science, I'm exploring the limitations of MeshGNN and solving problems in noninear dynamics.
